They had food trucks come in on Saturday night which was fun. This is an excellent place for aviation enthusiasts. There are an amazing variety of planes going low overhead on the approach pattern to Jacksonville International Airport. Translation - noisy!
Not continuous, but frequent. Probably the only downside to this park, otherwise I would have rated it 5 stars without hesitation. We stomped around in there for a while amiring the variety of things that are available. There was only one produce booth, but a whole lot of everything else, both new and used stuff. The Cummer Museum is a great stop in downtown.
Great garden and a lot of interesting art. We had a very nice lunch at the cafe t This is one of the nicest campgrounds we've stayed at in a long time. Easy to make a reservation, check in was professional and quick, the access roads are paved and easy to navigate, the sites are spacious and fully paved and the grounds are well maintained. There are few trees and little to no shade so no problem with satellite reception. There is an "annex" section in the rear of the property with its own pool, playground laundry room and fitness center.
During our stay, they just started construction of an activities center that will have a basketball court, tennis and pickleball court and a stage for concerts and shows. We barely noticed the occasional airport noise and with the rig closed up with the AC on, the road noise also wasn't an issue.
Great Verizon coverage and their free WiFi measured a download and upload rate of 1. At night with everyone on line, it did slow down some. Large park with concrete level pads, we stayed in a back in site which had a bigger site than the pull thru sites. The pool was nice, two dog parks, clean laundry room that takes debit cards or an app only, friendly help in the office.
The fish were spawning so didn't catch but two small catfish. Only reason for the 4 star rating was all the traffic on the row we were saying in, the long term residents would leave early am in loud vehicles that wake a light sleeper. Tip for Other Campers: Take a trip to Fernandina downtown area. The people are friendly, lots of neat shops and restaurants. We stayed here a week to explore the JAX area.
An older park, but with recent improvements and additions. These one-way roads are not a problem, but you need be alert for traffic on the main drag There is a 5 mph speed limit and multiple stop signs.
However, this didn't stop one fifth wheel rig from accelerating down the entire drag, not stopping for any stop sign, and that wasn't the only such egregious event The staff need be more visible to make things safer. There are a number of long term residents at the resort, many of them leaving for work with noisy vehicles early in the morning. There might be a trade off between less traffic in the newer section of the park, but that probably comes at the expense of more highway noise.
The systems all worked, good sky access for satellite dish. Overall, a reasonable big city RV park, with the associated pricing and noise And even more inconsiderate guests than usual. Spent a week. Very clean park, well maintained with large roomy sites. Selection of pull thru and back in spots.
Cable TV was exceptional and wici throughout the park was adequate. Verizon wireless worked great for cell service. Easy entry and maneuvering through the paved roads with concrete pads at each site. Pecan Park is easily accessible with a Love's just down the road. Sites are wide and long enough for the biggest rig. Bathrooms and laundry are very clean. It is close to the airport so there are flights most of the day. However, at night, it's quiet. I had a standard back in site.
The interior roads are wide and asphalt. The spot was angled so it was easy to back in. The concrete pad was almost 2 inches off level, side to side. The park is close to US I and about 12 miles north of downtown Jacksonville. Planes do pass overhead from what I assume in Jacksonville Airport. There is a large dog park split in half with fences so different dogs can have their own area to romp and run.
The laundry room was immaculate and takes credit cards instead of cash. A nice park, I would return if in the area again. As others have said the airport and I are nearby. I di not find it noisy but my wife complained of air traffic during the night.
There is only one restroom facility for the park and it was about 3 blocks form our site so did not use. There was a pool but we did not use. I thought for the money there are better campgorunds nearby for an overnight stay. Tip for Other Campers: Jacksonville Airport is nearby and can be noisy at times. Pecan Park is a large campground owned by Sun Properties. The park is right off I95, north of Jacksonville, Florida. The campground is very clean and well maintained.
The drives and pads are all concrete. Drives are easily maneuverable but the pads are a little tight getting into but not a problem.
Sights are a bit tight but plenty of grass between pads. Many pads do have a rise at entry and slope at exit but my rig had no problem getting level.
Campground has a small lake that can be fished on the north side of the property. There is a nice fenced dog park behind the office. Commercial Airplanes do take off and land over the park but I never had a problem with noise.
We were at the campground for 2 nights. This is a nice park and will return if in the area again!! There is a mall with restaurants and retail a couple of miles away. It's really a very clean RV park. The management staff are very nice and friendly. The office, the club house, the swimming pool area are well-kept. The neighbors RVers are so nice, both the short-terms and long-terms. Overall, we loved our stay in this RV park. We met some good friends from here too.
It is a pet-friendly park. We highly recommend this park. Fernandina Beach, Jacksonville Beach, St. Cons: The streets are all one-way except for the main street that goes through the park which is a bit annoying. Coming Soon!
