When we were asked if we wanted to sit at the bar and have drinks while we waited, we did…but drinks came piecemeal…I ordered a beer in a van and it took 15 minutes. Food was ordered they comped our bakery assortment…thank you , but food took over an hour to get to us. By the time we were done, it was almost 4pm.
I come from the service industry, and I know things are tough right now. I would come back, but maybe in a month or two and hopefully they will get their service standards a bit better.
Brunch was fantastic! But make sure to get the bakers platter! We arrived on time but we still waiting 45 min for the table for 2. Food took 1 hour to arrive after we ordered. Dining at Bar Pilar was an exercise in disaster. Despite having reservations, upon arrival, no one was around to seat us.
We spoke to multiple members of staff seeking assistance, who only directed us to other staff members. It took 15 minutes to get our table, which was then one clearly intended for a significantly smaller party. When we requested a larger table, we had to wait another 15 minutes to get seated.
The waitress, while very sweet, neglected to write down the order, which resulted in multiple mistakes in our orders. We also had to wait roughly an hour for a glass of water, and for the table to be cleared, which caused us to be swarmed with flies the entirety of our meal. The food in itself was entirely unseasoned and we were underwhelmed. Booked a reservation and requested outside.
When I got there there was an open table outside however we were told another party was waiting for that table and another one should be available within 10 minutes. When I inquired about it to the hostess again, she informed me that the customers who reserved that table are currently sitting at the bar.
The food was mediocre at best. We ordered the dumplings to start and the inside filling had no flavor. I ordered the bibimbap for my main and was disappointed— the rice was the majority of the dish and it was mushy and there was not enough meat in it either.
Waited nearly an hour for service and did not receive. Food was tasty and varied. Staff were very friendly. Terrible service. Spent 2.
Very disappointed to have chosen here for our special occasion. Great food and drinks- brisket was unreal and HUGE!! There was one server upstairs serving the whole floor. The drinks and food took forever and my food was missed. Had to wait 40 mins for our table that we had reservations for.
Service was incredibly slow. Food was cold. Had to send back. Server was not attentive. Great food and amazing service. Great Drinks and Ambience! Great Sunday funday brunch out. Service was fantastic. Waiter was friendly and doing his best, but service was unexcusably slow and unattentive.
Amazing food and great environment made the experience feel more like a normal night out then we've had in a long time. Staff was also great, very accommodating and friendly. Food, drinks, and service was good. Music was just too loud.
The food was great, the cocktails were great, and the restaurant had a lovely ambiance. But the service was so bad. They are definitely understaffed - we waited so long to be served. And the waiter was very rude when we initially arrived. I didn't catch the name of our waiter, but he was wonderful - he mentioned that they were short-staffed, but only to explain the occasional delay.
Food and drinks were great, can't wait to go again! I booked an outdoor table for pm brunch to celebrate my birthday with friends. We had a reservation after all. All of my birthday plans had to be rearranged or canceled due to the 1 hour and 30 minute delay at brunch. Call me crazy, but when I make a reservation I expect to be at a table close to the time of the reservation. Having to wait so long when we had a reservation is just bizarre and not an experience I wish to repeat, especially for such a special occasion.
Such a cute space! The food was surprisingly fantastic! Best side salad dressing ever! An unassuming venue with a decent variety of food and drink selections on the menu. Great for a chill night out. Good bang for your buck. Great place for dinner that is not too fancy in a fun atmosphere on 14th street.
Great experience! A must try for everyone! The food was very good. Had an egg white omelet that was delicious. Service was a little slow for bottomless brunch. But the waits staff was very apologetic. There clearly was not enough staff for the area. Great brunch deal—especially outside! Service was sub par. Far too few people on staff. Waiter who did help us was super nice.
I usually LOVE this place! Their food is always out of this world. For some reason they had just one server cover all the tables during a Sunday brunch rush. The server could not have been nicer. What a great guy!! I think the rush pulled the food quality down. Our food was stale and not hot. We got take out on the way home and ate after, which was fine. We knew they were slammed. Our drinks were great, but there was a good wait to receive bottomless drinks.
Great place! Please hire another server for brunch. Yay Bar Pilar, excellent spot!!! Thank you, Patch. Unfortunately, there are times where servers call out Hope to see you back soon! They were clearly understaffed. It took over 15 minutes before a server approached us, 30 minutes between rounds of drinks, and once our food came out, no one asked if we needed anything until I flagged down the waiter at the bar.
Good food and an amazing waitress! It was great sourthern food. Pancakes were not that great, server ignored our table for over half an hour during a bottomless brunch. We ordered our first round of food 40 minutes after we got there. This comes with smoked foie gras, a mustardy sauce and currants what grown ups call raisins.
